MARCOLIANI MILANO for Pitti Uomo 2014

Role: Exhibition designer, project leader

I was approached by Marcoliani Milano to design their booth for the fabulous Pitti Uomo in Florence. i decided to collaborate with my colleague Marta.

DESIGN PROCESS

We went to visit the client at the factory and I was astounded by the intricacy of the sock knitting machine and I used that as the key inspiration to recreate the process on a larger scale. A way to show the visitor in a simplified way, how the many rolls of merino cotton and wool are woven together to make large sheets of material. I was also inspired by artists who have been using these kinds of methods with string and thread to make captivating installations.

After doing research with the brand identity and the colours that would be introduced for the Summer collection, we executed mini renders to tantalise the client into what we imagine the booth too look like
